Protect Your Treasure

It’s always fascinated me how the Chinese Martial Arts, particularly the internal arts of Taiji Quan, Xingyi Quan and Bagua Zhang are inextricably entwined with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The interface between the martial arts and the healing arts were taken to the highest level in ancient China. TCM includes QIGONG longevity exercises, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Herbalogy and Nutrition. Many truly formidable martial arts masters were also powerful healers.

At the core of TCM is the concept of SAN BAO or “Three Treasures.” The Three Treasures are JING, QI and SHEN. Jing is your “Original Essence” that you’re born with. QI (Ki) is your “Vital Energy Force” connected to your breath. And SHEN is your “Mind.”

The best way to both protect and cultivate your Jing, Qi and Shen is to drink half of your body weight in ounces, in pure water every day. Eat a plant strong diet of locally, organically grown and in season raw vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and sprouts. Use herbal tonic elixirs. And practice NEIDAN Qigong everyday. Neidan Qigong is the internal alchemical meditation versions of the ancient Daoist longevity exercises. They’re incredibly powerful.

Ultimately a truly complete system of danger prevention and survival will include methods for cultivating your Three Treasures of health. Perhaps this is one reason why, several years ago, the U.S.Army started an Acupuncture clinic in one of their state side hospitals. Protect your Three Treasures well.
