This is what’s promised in the advertising of New York Sports Club’s (NYSC) UXF ultimate fitness experience. My office moved across town, and I was trying out some new classes near Rock Center in NYC, so I gave it a try… and it delivers.
I first heard of Town Sports International when I lived in Boston and was teaching class at a competitor gym. They have gyms named after the city they are in, like Boston Sports Club (BSC) and locations in Philly (PSC) and Washington, D.C. (WSC) as well, if you are ready to take your routine to a new level.
This comprehensive, body-changing workout combines strength training and cardio conditioning to improve your flexibility, agility, strength and endurance. You’re challenged to achieve your personal best and progress at your own pace during eight sessions that span four weeks. It is like group personal training, so it’s fun to take with a friend like I did.
Equipment such as TRX, kettlebells, ropes (pictured below) and bars are combined with plyometric exercises to create a well-balanced and varied circuit.
If you like to be pushed to the limit, and get bored at spin classes like I do, this will keep your mind entertained and your body guessing. If you are not from the east coast, you can get similar cardio burn with sculpting intervals from my Booty Camp DVD, or ask your local personal trainer to incorporate some of this equipment, in alternating sets, in your next workout.
